Installing condenser drier...

    Drier in garage has packed in. Argos delivering new one to.morrow morning but not installing. Just needs standing in same place as previous one and same connection. Is there more to installing than unpacking and plugging in. Grateful for any electricians help please.

    We've had 3-4 condensers - they have all come with 3-pin plugs you just plug in. And the water is captured in a drum that you empty when its full.

    You literally put the plug in the socket like you do with a kettle/iron/charger any other appliance and switch it on. There is no installing.

    If GR is installing it in the garage and it is condensing drier be aware that you need to ensure you
    empty the water container and not leave it overnight especially in Winter. We have an insurance
    agreement and when our drier became frozen up, they advised that unless we put a blanket/cover over
    otherwise they would not honour the agreement to get it working if it did freeze up.

    Another bit of advice don't remove the grille to clean the fluff filter and then try remove any garments
    from the drier Our drier broke down and we had to have an engineer out and he found a sock
    wrapped round the drum. Obviously it had fallen down when the fluff filter had been removed.

    Plug in and away you go. Can’t remember if transit bolts are fitted on driers as with washers. Remove if so. To be honest garages are not the best place for driers as in winter ( google it I did after being warned) the air temperature can cause issues. Nowt but trouble with mine. Mine is a stand alone garage not attached to the house. Maybe doesn’t get massive changes in temperature. If attached. ?

    Condenser or vent. Not sure if it makes much difference. Mine was a condenser.
