Yes there was some initial concerns from other countries it may be making things worse so I think NHS England erred on the side of caution. A few weeks back they concluded no evidence to suggest it was exacerbating the problem.
It's mostly bad for your stomach. If you have ulcers you should steer well clear of them. And otherwise long term use can (or will) result in demage to your stomach. There's a reason you can normally only take them for a limited stretch of time.
Ibuprofen is associated with an increased risk of kidney damage which excludes it from being taken longer term, normally.
They also said the same about smoking but the other way around. Laughable when you think about it - 'smokers may be less likely to catch coronavirus'
Need to shift those full shelves of Ibuprofen somehow, at least if my local Aldi is anything to go by
Once took a high dose of ibuprofen. Prescribed for severe back pain. I Suffered a bad reaction. If you’ve ever seen The Exorcist. When Megan projectile vomits. Picture the scene. I think all my insides came out with it. couldn’t move with the severe pain. Let’s just say the missus didn’t enjoy cleaning me up.
Be great if it did work as there would be no need for a vaccine if you knew that in the small chance you catch a serious dose of Covid you could self isolate, take Ibuprofen for a few days and recover quickly. It also clogs your airways and clots your blood so you have to weigh it up. I'm not bashing smokers by the way, I had a ciggie half an hour ago. I just think the cons outweigh the pros in this case. I heard in France they were giving out nicotine patches so maybe there's something in it?
I'm an ex-smoker. Haven't had a cig since 2012. I went in car to drop Laura off at Fitzy station when we were just starting out. I sparked up, smoked a cig and decided I'd had enough. I put what was left out of my pack of 20 in the bin at Fitzy station. I've had roll ups a few times with my mate Russell at the football but last one I had was beginning of the season. I had a roll-up outside CourtHouse. It made me feel dizzy, my heart was racing and I started sweating like a vampire in a blood bank. I had to go to the toilet I felt so sick. Nearly passed out. Haven't smoked owt since.
Good for you mate, it's never easy! I dip in and out, stopped for 7 years when I met my ex, started again, stopped and started again. Now I dip in and out and I've stopped making excuses for it. I know it's not good for me (obviously!) but I enjoy it and something I inevitably go back to. And because I smoke roll-ups I end up buying a bag of baccy, so unlike a 20 pack I end up smoking through the whole bag, which is a lot. A new relationship can sort it right out and that's exactly how I initially stopped 13 years ago. Good for you man, keep it up.
