If players choose their squad numbers based on things like: Styles - 20 as good as two number 10s Watters - 36 3+6 is 9 Connell - 48 can be a 4 or an 8 etc etc etc
I remember the Chilean striker who played up front for Inter in the late 90s (name began with a Z I think) used to wear 18 but had a + symbol in between the numbers.
It’s common in Mediterranean and South American countries. That’s why at Inter, AC etc alotnof the Brazilians end up with numbers such as 77 as their preferred number of 7 would be taken.
