I need your opinions

I always felt that I wouldn’t ever go back to blogging, podcasting, YouTube, whatever. I’d just done nearly a decade inside the game and the last thing I wanted, having chosen to leave that life behind was to create Barnsley FC content. But across this season, friends have suggested I should get back into it. And I have to admit, in recent weeks I’ve had an itch that perhaps needs scratching.

So what better place to garner opinion than the place where I first shared my drivel many years ago…

If I was to create a new blog, YouTube channel, podcast, something along those lines this summer, would it be something you’d be interested in? I’m very conscious that over the last 10 years, these spaces have been filled by some great people and I certainly wouldn’t want to take anything away from them.

I’ve no idea what it would like at this stage.

Please be honest. Let me know if there’s an appetite for something new.

I think it would be a good move. I don’t really think there is too much quality with what is currently available though appreciate others might see things differently.

 

I think you should go for it. You have an insight into the club that most supporters will never have and you're analysis snd contributions on here are always worth a read. If you've got the ability and drive to do it, which you appear to have, then why not? Most importantly, if you fancy doing it and think it would be fun and enjoyable, go ahead, life's for living!

 

I'd watch/listen.

I like watching Callum Fowler on YouTube because he seems to know his stuff about the football league, has a tarn accent and he’s heavily biased towards us. That’s a great combination.

 

As said above. If you feel like doing it, can put the time in and feel like youd enjoy it do it. At the end of the day even if people dont agree with your blurb who are you hurting? No-one.

Did you actually choose to leave. Or was it cost cutting. I understand that loyalty to your employer is one thing. Whist at the club. But you will be asked difficult questions. Like dishing the dirt if you thought there was any.
My question quite simply, and you don't have to answer. (Just making a point) is on what most people believe. When you and others went.
If it's just football on the agenda then make that clear.

 

If you promote it accordingly then I’ll give it a go. You should have some good contacts within the club to make it worthwhile.

If not, I guess we’ll depend on the vagaries of the YouTube recommendations algorithm.

 

Are you thinking of something wholly Barnsley FC based? You’ve got an insight into the club that very few do and assuming you’re not under any kind of NDA it would be good to get some warts and all understanding of what goes off within the club.

 

Sounds a great idea YT. Always enjoyed your input in the past, real ‘voice of reason’ stuff. Look forward to it.

I always thought you managed a good job of it in the past.
Had a very levelled head about players ,and just didn't stick the boot in like some.
We need something to get the fans back on board.
