Now hit with a transfer embargo for the same reason as Burnley.

They are screwed. Irrespective of this TBH. I don't have an issue with them, but they will go down. Them, Wigan, (who I hate) & probably Blackpool, although I'd like a Reading points deduction to save them.

Burnley saying them and the Auditors are confident it will be lifted by Summer, is Huddersfield also for late accounts?

Tw@tter rumour is that they are going into admin in the next few weeks so that the points deduction is applied this season.

Thought they'd prevented that loophole by doing the points deduction next season if a team was already down?

If I remember rightly if Burnley go up the embargo doesn’t affect them as PL and EFL are different.
Seem to recall something similar with QPR and overspending and then EFL got them when they come back down.

I think points deductions should be suspended until the end of the first season in which it will meaningfully affect the team (i.e. until it causes relegation or prevents promotion/playoffs)

Didnt they only deduct wigan the points at the end of the season. Cos if they'd been in the bottom 3 at the end. The deduction would have happened the season after. They fecked up royally thinking they'd finish above 15 points clear. Cos they were winning games at the time.

Are Wolves in the same position - as long as they're a PL team they're ok but if relegated they face a points/financial deduction ??

Dunno. Just passing on a rumour that says that they have to go into admin before March 23rd to get a points deduction this season. It would seem a little strange after appointing Neil Warnock-Houdini

I think they should go a step further and have a category of financial offences (of which this would be one) which result in automatic relegation at the end of the season. I guess the problem with that would be that if a club knows they're copping for that penalty, they may well distort the competition with their selections for the rest of that season.

This is what is wrong on so many levels with football, those that play fair are disadvantaged and those that don’t are given all the chances they need

Bit cheeky that they plan to go in to admin to get their points deduction this season knowing their dinosaur is taking them the same place as the Blackpool dinosaur.

Helik with back to back relegations and even further from international call ups than he was for us.

Abruzzo & Dreamboy with valid points ^^

And this is not disrespectful to Helik, who served us well, but it could be the case next year where we could swap places in the pyramid, but he still wouldn't come back to the club that plays safe, cos he can stay on double the money with a club that doesn't.

Pretty much my thoughts too, but I dislike Wigan slightly more than that (and everything they stand for).

But what of the £10million they got for Toffolo and O'Brien from Forest last Summer?

Also on the player front they are screwed.

6 loan players will return to their parent clubs.

The majority of the remaining players are ageing journeymen with no resale value.
