From a playing point of view I agree the players aren't good enough for this league however that's not their fault... They give beyond what's asked of them most games but lack the experience and the talent to survive... Hence my disagreement stance....
Can't fault the players for being out of their depth.... Conway and Co put them into this situation In the first place... They gambled on our chances of it coming together knowing to them it wasn't the big deal we as supporters/fans feel... We go down the boys have championship experience those that have come good will be sold for profit those staying hopefully will stand out in league 1 and will then also be sold on at some point... The nature of their plan... Few sound bite statements along the way which we've seen from Conway and bingo you have it.... Whilst in reality it couldn't be further from the truth...
We are not good enough for this league due to the actions of no one else but our board of directors... Win win all around for them or so they think... My opinion for what it's worth

While ultimately the board will take the flak if we are relegated and I suppose that's right, do the recruitment team also need to be re addressed.I keep hearing Conway this Conway that but at the end of the day he's a board member who along with his colleagues put there trust in to the recruitment team and the coaches they employ. It's been mentioned loads of times that Conway as an American knows nothing about football well if that's the case the board should look deeper at the people who target the players.Personally I think the players brought in have talent but quite obviously looking at our league position a few aren't quite ready for the Championship at this moment in time.
For example a lot have slated Anderson all season and assuming the recruitment team were working to the clubs strategy of signing under 24's surely there's more players in the world at 24 and under who could have been Championship ready.Don't forget this recruitment team were in place before the new board took over maybe its time for an overall of the scouting and anilyctic methods the club have used since 2017.

    Connor and Kettlewell like this.

What financial limits were put in place by the board. It wasn't the recruitment team that sold our two central defenders and Moore just 3 days until the end of the season.

I agree we don't know the financial restraints but according to press and other media outlets we paid over a million for Wilks,Thomas,Chaplin 900k for Anderson etc.All i'm saying is could the recruitment have been better. As for Pinnock and Lyndsey its been done to death and I always think if a player wants to go there's not a lot you can do really.

If you read Stephen Gerrards biography they said no to Suarez leaving and he stayed an extra season and he's right morngy but still put the effort in so I'm sure we could have done the same, for 6 more months.

It's a tough call really. If its true we offered Pinnock the best ever contract at Oakwell and he turned it down because he wanted to leave I suppose we have to show some compassion for the player and his family.Like it or not players have lots of power and there agents too.

I think he definitely is happier down south and good luck to him BUT he signed a contract with Barnsley that took a chance on him and they could have legitimately made him wait 6 months.
