    Some of there fans are wanting em to play a weakened side against Pompey on Saturday... so Pompey beat em and consequently us to second spot.
    They think they've a better chance of winning the play offs with us in it rather than Portsmouth

    Bang on. No way will a professional manager and players lose a game on purpose when they can still go up automatically. If they win and we drop points they're right back in it.

    I honestly don't get the logic of some of their fans.

    Yeah and plenty want them to play a weaker team as they are resigned to the play offs, so want to give key plays a few weeks rest by missing the last two league games, so they are fresher for 2-3 play off games.

    Got to say , if Sunderland go down that path they'll loose the playoffs too . Straight off the bat ; you finish fourth then you ve Charlton to play ; finish third then it's a toss up of Donny / posh . I know where I'd rather finish .

    That and momentum. Rest players lose a couple of games and it’s hard to get back into the winning ways again.

    In any case they beat Portsmouth and they can still pass us if we slip up it would be mad to give up at this stage. They need to win though a draw is no good to them now

    Sorry a Senior moment. Thought he'd said " better". Need to get to Specsavers.
    Been giving more thought to it, if we can win our two remaining games, could help
    our cause if Sunderland and Portsmouth draw.
