I see Russell and DKD (offer we can't refuse) leaving - Kelly/Bland, and Cleary to take their starting places respectively.
Thats absolutely appalling grammar there Luca kid lol. But hey seriously, is that right do you reckon, about KD, and Russell ?.
Good age, off the back of a great season, established international (with goals) We'd be daft to consider anything under £1m. I'd put the phone down.
I've got the impression Luca, that at least one of them will have to go. To make some room and to bring some money in of course. And by 'them', I'm suggesting Keillor Dunn, Connell, Russell, and Phillips.
See Tovide scored for Colchester at the weekend. He’d be ideal for us. Strong, quick and can play wide or central. Not sure what his asking price is though and not sure I’d want to lose DKD to get him. Russell, yes, but don’t think he’d bring enough cash for us to afford Tovide.
I don't get this "letting Russell go".If we want to be a top side in this division we need to keep all our top players. We have midfield players who score goals In my view we should try and keep them all.Its a long season and all the squad will be needed at some stage.
Nothing against Russell but Neerav said there’d be sales this summer. Seeing as he’ll walk for nothing next summer I imagine he’s favourite to be sold this month if we get a decent offer.
Ideally yes, but if he won't sign a new deal then we can't afford to lose him for nowt next summer. We also already have a really good midfield hence why he's not been playing. I'd take losing him, as decent as he is. If it meant we could afford to buy a decent right centre back.
Russell is currently replaceable with the players already at the club. Great stats last season and a goal scoring international 1 million is about right in the current market.
I agree with Liverpool Red regarding Russell that his summer work load opened the door for Vimal. Its now maybe Russells turn to wear and keep the shirt.I agree about the contract situation though.Hopefully in my opinion we can offer him another deal thats suits him to sign. He's still young enough to earn another move sometime in the future.
I fully expect DKD to be sold by deadline day, undisclosed of course. I’d also expect Russell to be sold, given his contract situation. What worries me is will we use the funds to bring in replacements?
The issue Brian is Conor wants some strength in depth and yes in an ideal world we'd be able to keep all our top players, I don't think anyone is just saying get rid, it might just be a case of needs must to allow us another 2 or 3 to come in. We aren't really in a financial position to spend without departures, Neerav said back in April that we would have to revert back to selling players after Cadden, Cole, Kane and Williams all left for free. JR is the most obvious due to contract and the fact we could cover that position.
