When I was a lad the position of someone in politics who demonstrably lied rapidly became untenable and they were forced to resign. Now at least in the Right wing its just treated as perfectly normal and acceptable. It makes me feel ill that our country has come to this
Aided and abetted by a Press and Media whitewash . When you have only a few taking them to task it makes them look partisan . If a Govt have lied or at least been economical with the Truth it’s up to the press and Media of whatever orientation to expose it . Yes you can have press with sympathies to one party or another but the basics should be scrutinised by all whichever party and it’s not been , it’s been overlooked and glossed over and that’s unforgivable imo . We gonna end up with a Trump in power and a puppy media .
It's so weird though because all the numpty posts I see on Facebook think that the media is AGAINST the government because "he's trying his best" or whatever. They couldn't get enough of CORBYN HATES JEWS or whatever was in the Mail last year - now it's "boycott the press they're undermining the government" The tone of people's opinion on the media has changed so much in 4 months. Look at Piers Morgan for example. At the back end of last year people were lapping him up "oh he's telling it like it is, anyone who doesn't like him is a snowflake". Now it's "get Piers off my TV all he does is criticise" because he's dared to have a go at Johnson* It's so backward it's unreal *for the record i think Morgan is a wnker; so I won't be praising him just because he's criticising Johnson.
Tbh I’ve no problem media bigging him up etc . I don’t like it but I’ve no problem as that is what partisan media do . My problem is gliding over or ignoring the lies , some enormous lies as well . Even the media in Thatchers day Went to town if she lied or backtracked .
