It must be something they have thought of because it was a question that was asked in the recent questionnaire about returning to Oakwell. I must admit I read the thread about your wife's predicament earlier as I had missed it at the time of posting. I have also been on immunosupressents in the past although mine are given at the time of flares or to get back into remission from the GPA I have. The drug (Rituximab) does deplete B-cells which as I understand it are part of the immunological memory cells. I haven't had any treatment for a couple of years now but I think I need to do the antibody test that is sat on my desk.
20+ blokes smoking int bog at half time. It's about time a smoking corner was created. Unfair on the rest having to wade through smoke. Or as some grounds do, allow em outside.
I've decided to bin off away days this season. My season ticket is in the West Stand Lower which is a) open and b) sparsely populated so I will just be attending home games. My plan is to sit in my seat for 10 mins after each game to let the crowds disperse before I make the walk back to the car park.
In all seriousness, the only way of being safe is not to attend mass gatherings of people. And that's sadly what I'll have to do until covid is no more, or significant scientific breakthroughs occur. And as if I'd pick my nose in public ;-)
There were two idiots vaping all through the first half in front of me. Quite blatantly in full view of a gaggle of stewards less than ten feet away. That’s ok then is it? I moved somewhere else second half
I suppose there’s not a lot you can do but I must admit it was a bit claustrophobic / uncomfortable in the concourse last night. Probably a combination of COVID-19 being very prevalent still and getting out of the habit of going to matches as I’ve never liked people in my airspace anyway! I’ll probably wear a mask as an extra layer at future games to make me feel a bit more comfortable. As for the morons smoking in the bogs. Well, they’re just morons! Even my 9 year old thinks they’re stupid, inconsiderate morons. He asked my why they were doing it, I told him it’s because they’re morons. I made sure several of said morons were in earshot. I just hope the majority who don’t care and don’t consider others don’t moan when we’re stuck with the next winter lockdown!
I would expect many fans will take a LFT when they wake up Saturday morning just to make sure they aren't unknowingly going to the game with covid.
Please don't take this as any kind of dig as I do genuinely have a lot of sympathy for your postion. But even if we could magically rid the world of Covid19 right now wouldn't mass gatherings still present a risk to you and subsequently your partner? Especially as we make the transition into the colder months.
Best thing to do. Nobody wants restrictions coming back to Oakwell so we all have to play our bit. If it comes out that a cluster of cases can be linked to coming to watch our home games the powers that be (EFL) might decide to force things on us.
So really, was it just a fight to get out of the ground quickly? All shouting, had enough, no coming back.
It was old-fashioned fisticuffs between rival 'supporters'. I did hear that one person needed medical help. All pretty pathetic really.
Everyone soon returns to sort ,the we are all in this together lockdown Sir Tom spirit didn’t last long
I'm sure many considerate intelligent reds fans will take a test. Sadly we have a vast section who won't the ones who fill the ponte end toilets with smoke and take god knows what illicit substances while hiding in there at half time. The same goes for the ones who seem incapable of attending a football match without being pissed out of their tiny minds, that's the problem and no doubt many of the above morons were the ones scrapping at full time.
