You just can't emphasise the word enough in these top 2 leagues. So anybody thinking we could do with a couple of these young Liverpool lads next month wants their bumps feeling. They are being dismantled by a poor Villa side. It's like watching a Premier League version of ourselves. Difference is, Liverpool have had no choice but to accept the situation for one (Cup) game. We've based a whole season on it. Laughable
I don’t think it’s fair to assess all the Liverpool players by adult standards. Together as a collective they are getting well beat but as individuals no doubt some of them are very very good and will have excellent careers One of them, in the right team (not ours by the way) would be fine and improve both the team and the player
Kind of my point. You could drop any one of them into their first team and it would be seamless. Drop them into ours it would be madness
To be fair liverpool could have been 2 up before villa scored villa keeper made some good stops. Conor scored a free kick which should of been saved then a freak deflection for the 2nd, and then looked like the young teams heads went down. Stopped watching at 3.
Anyone watch the latest "under the cosh" podcast, with micky gray (x sunderland). He was making the point that, as young 17 year old lad at Sunderland, he was schooled by terry butcher and steve bold. He reckoned what they did for his game was immeasurable (or words to that effect).....EVERYONE knows it would be the right thing to do, even the business model would improve, by bringing on our young uns quicker and making them better players and therefore worth more (the last bit is for the suits).
I'd have sent these lads to the world club cup instead of the first team. Show FIFA how bloody stupid it is to have a silly cup like that in the middle of the season.
We need experience but I wouldn't want too many loans. Look at Donny who last season did alright by their standards. However their three best players of last season were two loanees and their star striker and they have all gone and it's showing.
That cup isn't great to start with, when something like this happens its a total joke. Still at least the fans got in for a reduced rate,oh err wait a minute! .........
How many of them have any experience of senior football? I only recognised Herbie Kane from their starting eleven. It’s not really comparable, is it.
Only watched a few minutes of it. My first reaction was to wonder how Liverpool fans who had travelled and paid what would have been a tidy amount, felt to see a team full of kids in a cup quarter final. It's an extension of the stupid Tiddly Cup where under 23 Prem teams play to boost their clubs' standing. They wouldn't travel in their thousands to watch them !
