I expect to keep Duff, i expect us to keep the majority of our players, i expect us to win the league next season. Another poll at the end of the transfer window to see if we have the same expectations as now.
Probably the first time I can remember going into a season where we are expecting as a fan base to go up automatic. It seems abit Wednesday this. But it is true, vast majority of the fans do expect success next season. I’ve no doubt we will do it with the current squad, however, let’s see how they react to the new expectation every game to deliver. Hopefully we aren’t too harsh as fans when we do inevitably go though a tough patch next season.
I said at the beginning of last season I would be happy with top half and a serious push for automatic this season . The only problem now is by exceeding that is we've blown our cover now and top players will rightly be on people's radar, fully expect Mads and Williams to leave if we keep the rest and add a bit of quality fully expect top two.
Imho its all about, who we keep and our business this summer. If we keep Duff (who took an average to above average side to 4th) and keep most of our squad , with a few additions, we will be in for a very good season. So...we need a good transfer window this summer and leave it all to our coach.
There was a lot of expectation regarding promotion prior to the Stendel season. Not from me, I thought we'd no chance, but many people on this forum predicted promotion and were very confident. I went to a preseason game and got to see Mowatt for the first time since his return from a season long loan. I could see straight away that I'd been unduly pessimistic and that those predicting success had a great chance of being proved right. With people again predicting success, let's hope for a repeat.
I quickly changed my mind after the first few League One games under Stendel, and I thought that we were onto something and promotion was a real possibility. And so it proved. Now I and I think most of us are thinking exactly the same, and hopefully in the top two rather than the unpredictable Play offs. So its over to you Mr Duffer, no pressure of course lol.
