Anyone else thinking we should sit this tournament out and save ourselves the bobby hassell? We won every bloody qualifier last time and look what happened. It's hard to care past our beautiful Barnsley, even though I'll end up watching in the end...

And in my ignorance, have we not even had a warm up friendly before the game? Strange build up

Anyone think things will be different under Big Sam? I'm disappointed about Rashford being dropped.

Rashford has to be eased in I think it's right to get him some games in the U21's. After all it is only the qualifiers and we tend to stroll them even if we doss off in the tournaments

I think he should have picked Rashford, he's the only player who looked interested against Iceland.

Fair enough. Just seen Stones is in so I'll always watch with him in the team.

Do we really want to qualify for a tournament in Russia - it would be carnage for supporters if the recent Euros are anything to go by

Only watching because England to win with over 1.5 goals in the match is around 5/4 which is good value as Sam will expect to win two or three nill.

Wouldn't be so sure on this one. Sam's being talking up a draw as a good result. Let's hope anyhow. But Agree with Liverpool Red that the fact the world cup is in corrupt and hooligantastic Russia is also off-putting as a prize.

I don't know whether Big Sam will be successful but I don't think he'll pick injured players, I think he'll take a balanced squad which he's done this time by including wingers & I think we'll be organised e.g designated set piece taker.

Big Sam plays a 4-2-3-1 so there's no need for more than 3 strikers in his squad so Rashford shouldn't be there as Kane, Vardy & Sturridge are all significantly better.

Wonder if Allardyce is the least qualified (in terms of success) of any England manager or indeed any international manager. That 3rd division title with Notts County 20 years ago doesn't exactly scream over achiever. Still it's the English way to celebrate mediocrity.

I'm sure he said it will more than likely be 1-0er but we need to be the ones who wins it

And I really don't understand why he's put Henderson in. Disappointing already

We should be boycotting this one, simple as. Corrupt tournament, organised by a corrupt governing body and handed to a corrupt, warmongering, homophobic leader for his country to host it. Bent as a nine-bob note. I'm not going anywhere near it.
