    Well it is an inconvenient news source in many countries - even including ours, where the MSM isnt always totally impartial
    I dont expect twitter to survive in its current form and have already created a mastodon account but still coming to grips with that - its not a direct replacement.
    Wonder if we can link Mastodon posts the same as Twitter posts - I might have a go later and see what happens.

    As an aside for about the last 3 weeks on Twitter I have had a new follower every day who appears to be a pretty bikini clade young lady
    All have only around 3 posts all just easy on the eye pictures - not sure what the point is as there are no links to onlyfans or similar guessing the person behind them is hoping I follow back so they can DM me but they will be disappointed on that front - That will probably stop soon though when the little blue bird morphs into

    I started out on mstdn.social

    The Yorkshire one has only been set up last few days I think.

    It was an absolute faff to move from one server to another, so I'm glad I did it now before I got too far into it...

    I've effectively started again, cos the migration didn't exactly go as described

    I've closed my account. I never used it much anyway but when I read about how he's been treating his employees I decided that was that.

    I thought he just got rid of some for incompetence/impartiality/ rebranding? And with 6 months pay. And obviously he's stopped giving them free lunches (I honestly dont see the problem with that with how much some of their staff are on), has any other news come out?

    Whatever you feel about Musk, there's no way he's incompetent. You don't become the richest person in the world being that.

    Twitter has been a cesspool for the better part of 5 years now. Everyone at each others throats for even the tiniest of disagreements at times. I've been surprised at how many people i've seen buying those blue checkmarks though for 8 dollar. Don't really get the point of it to be fair. Makes sense for celebs & famous people/brands/companies whatever but the common peasants like us I don't really get it

    He told staff to either confirm they're willing to work crazy hours or quit, which is staggeringly stupid management, even if you're aiming to reduce headcount.

    Now he's had to close the offices because so many staff have quit
