They got through anyway. At least he was prepared to take one.

Still, can't be good for his confidence that.

Remember though penalties do not count anyway , at least thats what Woodrows critics say , they only count Woodrows goals from open play !

    Twaddle
So you think he's scored enough from open play. ?
I'm pretty sure he doesn't, himself.

Is it twaddle because it is a different opinion than yours ? I think the whole team do not score near enough goals collectively , there is simply no creativity & the strikers are being fed scraps also Woodrow has been taken away from a traditional strikers role & is being played out of the box too much, this is not his fault it is the tactics but Woodrow has been one of our best strikers in the last 20 years & he scores just under 1 in 3 in the championship which is credible but I actually think his critics will realise his true value when he is replaced by someone of less ability

    1 in 3 he got 31 in 106 games for us , not quite 1 in 3 , most in a season 14

Answer the question. Do you think he has scored enough in the last 2 seasons. from open Play instead of ducking it. That's what people were on about not scoring enough goals. You seem to think it's ok to criticise. (You started it btw in being critical of those with a different view) Folk are just making valid points. It doesn't matter if it's any of the strikers. Their output of open play goals ratio especially this season . is appalling. It may well be the tactics.
For what it's worth , I'd play Woodrow in midfield. I cannot criticise his work rate. And think he'd do a better job than any midfielder bar Styles.

I think Woodrow is comparable to a batsman that likes to feel bat on ball so defends down sixth stump lines. He doesn't have the bo llocks to commit to a drive due to his poor form. He comes back into midfield because he's missing chances and scared of missing sitters. This means he's only attempting the odd speculative waft from distance into row Z. Had we a decent midfield we'd see more from him.

First off you are not talking to a child " Answer the Question" , I have actually answered it & not ducked it as I said that the whole of the team have not scored enough to which Woodrow is a part of & once again it appears that penalties & free kicks do not appear to count .

Apologies if you got that impression but if you read I offer explanations.
You say he isn't scoring enough. Isn't that what others are saying that you saw fit to criticise.

Your opening statement. Which came over as a skit at anyone who didn't follow your reasoning. Why can't you accept that. Bringing it into a thread about Simoes. There was no need to mention Woodrow but you did. You might not like the response but it needed one.

"Remember though penalties do not count anyway , at least thats what Woodrows critics say , they only count Woodrows goals from open play !"

No one to my knowledge said they didn't count. Just stating the obvious. He doesn't score enough from open play. He's not on his own. We agree on that .

I think he is a quality player who would flourish in a more confident side given better supply & support arguably playing in a two has he did with Moore , I do not think he has scored as many as any one of us would have liked this season but that is a team problem throughout & yet he has scored 25 % of our goals , I also think his record overall is pretty good but it still is a mystery why his critics discount penalties & I have no problem with any ones response as long as it is not in offensive manner, courtesy costs nothing does it .

I certainly wasn't trying to be offensive just a difference of opinion to your slant on the issue. I edited my previous post. Of an apology if you thought that.

My view is, as I said before. I would play him in the midfield role. We are supposed to be an up and at em side. The tactics are abysmal. There are players who are getting regular starts I personally wouldn't pick.
Eg We were completely overwhelmed by Blackburn in the 1st half ( one of the worst halves of football its been my displeasure to see) and the manager didn't make changes till later on.
Too many players running around chasing shadows even if they can be arsed that is.

I agree with you , I think last seasons up & at them style suited us & the players responded to the HC"s tactics ,where this year we have gone full tilt opposite & our play from back to front is both pedestrian & predictable & unfortunately it is only taking us one way .
