Firstly - the Gate! No more than I would have expected in a normal home game against Fulham!
Secondly - "supporter" reaction :- CAVARE and THIAM. I cant defend Cavare for his sending off but the reactions on here "should never play again" , "CEO should be sacked" etc are beyond belief. Any body would think he was the first Barnsley player to be stupid. McDonald and Barnes just this season didn't get the same reaction and the Barnes sending off was just as stupid. Thiam I will defend! Within a minute of coming on he tackled a Fulham player (which I must admit I thought was a foul) and injured himself in the process - took a whack to the face and thigh and couldn't contribute anything for the rest of the game. If he hadn't been the last sub I think he would have been taken off.
Thirdly - again "supporter reaction :- YIADOM. I have no idea what happened at the final whistle but it is being reported that he suffered racist abuse at the hands of some of our own "Fans". What ever it was must have been bad for the opposition Goalkeeper to have to intervene.
    Very disappointed!

I was disappointed with the turnout and personally wouldn't have criticised any player in Red. We do seem to have a small element of racist idiots in our midst.

Definitely. Obviously it's hard to see how many are around you in the stand you are in but the East lower definitely looked fuller around me and just by looking across at the Ponty end I could see it was packed. Way fuller than normal.

Can’t be expecting much of an increase in crowd size in the last week of January, virtually everyone’s skint.

    Agree on Thiam, clearly injured.

Cavare deserves lots of stick for yesterday. I felt we were on our way to 3 points, at worst 1. That could be the difference between staying up & relegation. Angus took lots of hammer & deservedly so but you’ve got to remember he had lots of credit in the bank from last season, Cavare hasn’t earned the right to be supported through tough times.

Can’t even remember Barnes been sent off & know nothing about the racism so won’t comment on that except to say if it happened it’s obviously wrong.

Barnes has been sent off but the one I was actually thinking about was Williams straight red that he has just been suspended for!
