    That's exactly the point I'm making, that with us it happens more frequently with zonal than 'man for man'.

    I’ve often wondered why we don’t leave at least 2/3 players on the halfway line when defending a corner.best form of Defense.

    Leaves more space in the box. The fewer players in the box the more room for attacking players to run and jump at the ball without being blocked. Far more corners are converted to goals in training routines when fewer are players are used.

    And it’s actually easier to counter when you have more back as they will push more players forward which leaves space to run into.

    I think Cavare would be a liability in either a zonal or man for man system unfortunately. Great strength going forward and capable of defending well, but sometimes totally switches off at set pieces. He must be dropped as he's costing us points...
