Hi this is the first time I have posted on this site but feel I have to share the excitement I feel with this current group of players. I have watched the Reds since 1967 as a schoolboy and seen the highs and lows over the many years. I became a season ticket holder the year we were promoted to the premier league and have renewed ever since. From the likes of Eric Winstanley, Pat Howard and Roy Ironside, watching the great sides of Alan Clarke and Norman Hunter and even the Danny Wilson side that gave us our greatest season to date. At one point last season I was ready to give up on my beloved reds as we hit rock bottom, but we have now assembled a side led by a passionate owner and management team that I feel need fear no one in this league. We are doing the right things well and proving without doubt that it isn't all about spending millions to gain success. I realise these are early days but I think other teams will be starting to take notice of what we have achieved and what we could achieve if we keep this unit together so onwards and upwards keep doing what we are doing and who knows where this voyage will take us. You reds!
Yeah as you say great result, couldn't be there tonight but went to Preston and apart from 20/25 minutes at start of 2nd half we looked well capable of taking the points, so although tonight is a great result I half expected nicking it by the odd goal.
