Asked about the approach by the championship football club and he said his statement was all that he wanted to say on the matter.
Asked if he was instantly dismissed and Budge cut in and said lets talk about Hearts.
Said he chose Hearts because he felt trust and that was more important than money and other things to him.

Edit Budge said she was confident no compensation was due.

His statement yesterday didn't deny it when he went on his long and winding post. Today he was given a second chance to deny it and again didn't take it.

Make of that what you will.

I'm inclined to believe if there had been nothing doing at all then it would be easily denied. I'm also not sure how much or often players, managers and their agents are in contact with other clubs.
My belief is that he did his best for us during his time here. I suspect his reluctance to sign a new contract was because he felt he couldn't perform as he wished to given the boards stance.

I also feel if I were a Hearts fan I'd be annoyed if the feed switched off the minute they stopped talking about Barnsley.
