First fixture as Bond was the remake of Casino Royale in 2006 which earned strong critical reviews and earned him a nomination for the BAFTA for Best Actor in a Lead Role. He followed up with Quantum of Solace in 2008, moving away from the original Ian Fleming novels which garnered mixed-to-positive reviews.
