It seems to me that while the EFL have spent a lot of time getting the money sorted, protecting their product, publicising their safety measures and (maybe) getting Leeds & WBA promoted, they’ve forgotten one small detail,,,,,,the players!
I had thought about adding the fans to the post but, sadly I don’t think we are relevant to the EFL We’re not a detail they forgot, we’re a detail they dismissed as unimportant
Fantastic news for us. With Charlton missing key players, Hull been in freefall & Luton only just ahead of us we have a realistic chance of staying up.
Played very much low level football before Charlton. Take AFC Wimbledon (previous club) their average is around the £1500 a week mark. I appreciate it can be said that’s more than a postie, ship worker etc, but any footballer would be looking at trying to earn enough over probably a 4 year window to set them up for life which £1500 a week won’t do.
Lyle Taylor (@lyletaylor90) Tweeted: This is not how this chapter was supposed to finish, but sometimes we have little control over it. I’ve had so many messages of support from fans, teammates and other players and coaches. For those, I thank each and every one of you Fans not happy and I can see why. 2 or 3 more games and he,'d have left hopefully on a high.
Shows how fine the line is, if he stayed and played a few more and they stayed up, he would have left & wished all the best, if they go down he will be blamed.
When I say hopefully on a high I obviously meant for them not Barnsley fans. He's doing us a favour. Contrast that to Johnny William's who's out of contract, is very injury prone but will continue to play until season end.
Apparently Taylor has done a U turn and is now going to play who knows his committed to the cause he will be?
