If you're drinking alcohol then driving, can I suggest you park just outside https://www.staffordshire.police.uk/article/2148/Burton-Police-Station . Might as well same them some time if you are going to be a danger to others. If you are being sensible then enjoy :)

There's a bit of an industrial estate just before the ground on the right. If you go past the ground, whip it round and then it'll be on your left a couple of hundred yards past the ground. There's an away friendly pub on that road as well. You should also get a very good get away from there.

If you fancy a drink out of town. My local The Old Talbot in Hilton is a cracking pub selling real ale. It's supposed to be over 500 years old, not sure it's quite that old, but it is a proper old style pub with a tap room and bar, pool table, darts board and juke box and doesn't serve food. Ask the landlord for some of his Danish black pig - a liquorice style shot.

Hope the beech is a big pub to accommodate for the 1700 away fans.

Seems a strange one this, especially for a town that sells itself on it's pubs and drinking options. I can only assume the various hoardes that have no doubt travelled to Burton so far have perhaps caused problems in the town centre pubs? Last season almost every pub around the station/shopping area was essentially empty until our fans went in. It seems strange to assume all will be turning fans away unless you can prove you are a home supporter?

That Beech Inn is tucked away on a street near the ground from memory. Guess it's a logical choice for an away pub but perhaps not the easiest to 'stumble upon' unless you have prior knowledge of it's location.

    Best pubs (best beer)

    Closest to the ground

    The Great Northern
    The Alfred

    Near railway station

    The Coopers Tavern (my favourite)
    The Devonshire Arms
    The Old Cottage
    The Roebuck

Pretty well all Burton pubs serve decent ale such as Pedigree or Bass. There are 2 or 3 micropubs as well.

Plenty of street parking over the railway near The Great Northern or the other way into Stretton (go under the A38).
