Looking at the odds for both promotion and relegation, the bookies pretty much all have us finishing comfortably in mid table in 11th. Obviously I know realistically that means very little - and based more on what we did last season and who we’ve lost rather than what we look like so far - but they’re not often massively wrong are they? I’d take a mid table finish to be honest, with all the upheaval in the summer, losing Mr Rooney’s Derby still favourites to go down btw.
WRDCFC will be favourites to go down until they assemble a proper squad. As it is, they'll be ok for a bit but soon they'll need to use back up players and some of the older players will run out of steam. Makes sense to have us right in the middle. We've won one, drawn one and lost one. Some doom and gloom on here, but everybody would be getting giddy if we'd lost to Cardiff and beat Luton, just because that would mean we'd won our last game!
12/1 for us to go down, have they seen us play?, wonder solo goal at Cardiff and decent finish from Freiser, but apart from that in 360 minutes of football can not think of another attack, next 5 games against improving or top teams, think we will be 6/4 and in bottom 3 by Blackpool, unless we buy or the Thompson twins end up being worldys
Let's be honest, we could have been thumped in every fixture so far. The opposition have created far more chances than we have. Cardiff missed sitters, Coventry missed sitters etc
Tuesday night - Odour clean through first half, scuffs a right foot shot, Kitching shoulders over the bar from 4 yards from a corner, whipped ball from Brittain goes through the 6 yard box (without giving it any thought). It's far from brilliant granted, but we're not as dreadful as you suggest. somewhere between 11th and 15th is probably about right.
But how have everybody else played? Preston have zero points and conceded 7 in 3 games. Forest conceded 6 in three. Sheff U haven't scored a single goal. There's a couple of clubs that have lost 2 out of 3, and a number that have the same points as us from the first three.
Styles blazed over late on. Palmer round the back and went for goal instead of pulling back to Woodrow. Brittain shot in first half tipped wide. Benson deflected shot just wide. Not bad considering we didn't create owt.
we won't be near playoffs this season (unless these Belgians are world beaters) but for sure there are worse teams than us in this league so we will stay up im sure.
I'll be happy if we get to 50 points with time to spare and have a few games "on the beach" at the end of the season.
I agree with this and defensively we are so much stronger than we were when we started our championship campaign.
Why miss the win against Coventry out? We've only conceded 2 goals in 4 games as well, come on look on the brightside!
I think our saving grace is there should be at least 3 weaker teams than us come may. Although seeing struber sorry schlopps tactic of possession in our own half passing it from goalkeeper then around the defence doesn't fill me with confidence at all.
We have also only scored 2 goals in 4 games too. Teams that struggle to score goals tend to struggle.
