I think micks best days as a manager were in the early 10s I doubt he would be bothered about a relegation on his c.v tbh as I can't see him getting another job unless he drops to league 2.

My Dad is from Ryhill and grew up a Barnsley supporter. He took me to Barnsley v Reading in 94/95 and it stuck.

    Whilst it is effectively relegation.

A set of freak results can mean they get out of it no?

What am I missing .. 3 points behind and a goal difference. Which in theory could be overturned

Huddersfield play Reading on the last day so it is an actual relegation.

Must admit, I looked at the table a few times to work out what I was missing.

Wanted to leave a week or two into the job when he was told by the owner that the player he dropped for turning up late & taking the piss in training had to play due to the terms of his loan deal.

Said player then played or came off the bench every game regardless of his behaviour & it completely undermined his authority at the club.

I think it was a complete nightmare from day one to be honest. The centre back he loaned in Charlie Goode got a season ending injury in his first week, Gary Madine got himself a 3 game ban. I think he probably underestimated how poor their squad was as well. Comfortably one of the 3 worst in the league alongside Wigan & Rotherham.

I think they made a big mistake in appointing Michael Appleton, again!. And I think most fans don't rate him, and fans don't forget either do they, that he walked out on them the previous time.
As for that ridiculous rule that some loan players have to play, whether the manager likes it or not. That was never going to work with Mick.
