Not sure whether it's true, but alleged to be around £85k per week. What the actual f*ck? I really hope some of these overpriced chickens (turkeys?!) start coming home to roost very soon. Having just received £13 million for one of their players, I suppose you could say that Forest can afford it. But having just hit the transfer jackpot as well, theoretically so could we. Except we all know that on a sustainability level, we can't. Illuminating the difference between a well-run club and most of the rest of the league.

    That is obscene if true.

I'd heard £28k but either way it doesn't represent value for money. The combined weekly wage of our entire forward line is probably not far off that amount.

Is this the same Nottingham Forest who have just come out of a transfer embargo?

Good to see they've learnt their lesson.

I've long predicted them to go the way of Blackpool and Blackburn so we'll see what happens.

Bendtner has made a career out of being massively overrated. But he's finally found his level at Championship mediocrity.

£85k does sound unlikely I agree, but the fact that it's within the realms of possibility speaks volumes. Even £28k is pretty ridiculous, and indeed very poor value. A couple of my mates who support Forest are quite worried about what the future holds for them.

Niklas Bendtner - stolen a living as a footballer for years. Seems there is always some mug around to give him a job.

Thank goodness we don't have any of those any more.l

    I don't believe that (£85k) figure.

That's the thing about free agents. They hold all the power and clubs end up paying them disproportionate wages on the grounds they don't have to pay fees.

So forest are paying a combined £1.5m this year for Bendtner. (Personally don't think he's worth that regardless).

It's the same for Hourihane and Winnall. clubs will offer Conor obscene money over a 3 or 4 year contract as they wont have to pay the £10m transfer fee. So theoretically they could offer him £64k a week for 3 years and still be getting him cheaper than if they paid £10m and whatever wages he would demand.

It's why so many players are on such obscene and seemingly disproportionate wages in comparison to their ability.

Only wage caps can prevent the madness. Or financial fair play......(!!)

Honestly I wouldn't swap Bendtner for any of our strikers. Give me Stefan Payne any day.

£20,000 would be too much for a consistent failure.

He looked worth it when he hit the post from 4 yards out.

Not a chance he'll be on £83k a week, or anywhere near that.

Granted he's not the best player in the world, but if he gets the right service in this division he'll be a decent addition for them.
