Definitely should be trying to sign him after his release from Liverpool. I know we tried signing him last season on loan so would make sense. 22 year old attacking midfielder
I fear that in our current situation any signing of a half-decent quality is going to be difficult. Transfer fees and player demands could be beyond our means even after we've sold players to meet the fall in overall income brought about by relegation.
He has the same agent as Woodrow and Morris.. plus a few more ex Barnsley players. So the agents are familiar with the club
He certainly didn't live up to the hype from when he was 17, supposed to be the next best thing - I still don't think we'd have a chance though, 22 is still young enough where a team could take a punt and make some excellent money on him if he does well, or alternatively keeps him and the team benefit for many years. If he was a bit older, 27,28 I think we'd have a chance in this league
We’ll make him fill out a questionnaire. Speak to him along with another short list of players until a higher team takes him
Not that convinced they will be. Last few seasons he's spent in league one and Scottish League and in neither of those loans did be tear up any trees. I wouldn't be shocked to see him sign in league one or even a high paying league 2 side
Surely a championship side will look at him at 22 and see potential though. Luton, Rotherham, Blackpool, Wigan etc
Thats one of the things that annoys me the most about relegation. The fact that those clubs are now above us and for now anyway, they are doing a lot better than us. Its not so long back that all of them (except Wigan maybe) were down in the gutter.
Maybe, but he has yet to do anything of note really during his loan spells. He apparently wanted to sign with Hearts permanently as he enjoyed it there but they don't want to keep him. Given that money is tight for a lot of clubs, not sure many in the championship will be keen to take a punt on him
