    And so it begins!!

We’ve not been at the races most of the season unfortunately and since the resume the lads have worked there ****** off but ultimately come up short the last 3 games, it’s not over yet however it’s stacked against us now.

Has Struber got things wrong the last few weeks?

Yes I think he has, a think at times he’s not played his strongest team but it’s over 46 games and a think we’ll be plying our trade in league 1 again next season!

Im just waiting for all the anti-board-mafia to come out now.........a suppose we could’ve gone all in and done a Wednesday or Wigan and blown our ****** in and gone for it

Don't think its a meltdown as such.

    - Stoke game was unacceptable.
    - Luton were there for the taking.
    - Against a 10 man Wigan it looked like we were the ones with 10 men. 2 points from 9.
    - We looked better vs Luton when Halme came on, but many feel he left it too late. Think he got brought on today after 81 minutes again.
    - Williams looked awful vs Luton. Started again. Looked awful again.

Cant blame Struber, the PPG he's acquired shows hes a decent manager.

The board are the ones to blame for relegation. I back them in not spending much. I don't want to be a Wigan/Wednesday. I want them to learn from their mistakes. Everyone could see that replacing Pinnock and co for youngsters wasn't going to keep us up.

They listened too late. Thats not a meltdown, its just reality.

Trouble is they've 2 relegations on their CV now... One you can forgive 2 is down right neglect...
This anti board poster has been banging the drum all season...
Anybody defending them needs to give their heads a shake... Just my opinion for what it's worth..

Or we could have been a bit wiser last summer and given ourselves a fighting chance?

I disagree it is a meltdown but an emotional meltdown & we cannot help how we feel. You cannot truly control your emotions & this board is an outlet for those emotions, so crack on folks. BTW. We're staying up :D

We’ve been propping the league up all season as this teams as weak as pi$$ sadly due to the owners calamitous transfer dealings last summer.

We are where we deserve to be sadly, and yes, the fault lies squarely with the ten bob billionaires at the helm.

    - Stoke was terrible. But young teams don't go on long unbeaten runs sadly
    - Luton we deserved to win
    - I'm not sure I agree that Wigan looked like they had XI men? We could have done more, but we were in the ascendancy without being threatening enough
    - Halme coming on was desperation against Luton. We didn't have that same feeling today at the time the change was made. Halme as a striker isn't something I thought we needed
    - I don't think Williams played badly at all? Wigan are the form team in Europe depending on what you read, and we held up defensively. Problems were up the pitch for me

I recall us having two chances at best after the red card. I had sky sports news on at the time (as well as the game) and I’m pretty sure the lass commentating said something of the exact nature.

When you’re at home against a relegation rival and they’re down to 10 men you’d expect to throw the kitchen sink at them. I didn’t get the feeling we did that at all. (Maybe you disagree) There was the Styles and Simoes chances but equally they had a couple of pretty big chances too.

My post wasn’t an intentional slate of Williams (granted I don’t think hes a championship player) but in my opinion he was terrible against Luton and gave the ball away far too much. His attempted break away half way through today’s game was possibly the worst touch I’ve ever seen. With a minute to go when we got a free kick there was literally zero urgency to get the ball forward. Not sure what Oduor has done wrong to not get in ahead of him.

2 points from Stoke, Luton and Wigan is unacceptable whichever way you want to paint it. Today was simply a must win even if Wigan are in good form. Unfortunately the recruitment we made and the players we have aren’t good enough.

    Agree

I remember that. Terrible. But he'd done well to intercept the ball and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as Ritz and Schmidt midweek vs. Luton. Potential chance that went begging. Not the worst touch ever though.

I should also add that ritz delivery today was absolutely horrendous! I’d hope he doesn’t get in the team in the next few games, but I can’t see it :(
