This is precisely it. One side blatantly lies. Doesn't care its caught lying. Uses all sorts of tactics to keep repeating lies. Defends the mechanisms and lies in the process of defending such mechanisms. Oppositions call out lies, lying party play faux umbrage and lie some more.

Yet all politicians are liars. There are some really good politicians. Some very good speakers. Some very detailed legal minds. Some MPs who care deeply about certain issues and especially in their constituency.

Even the "best" politician can't possibly have a grasp on every single issue, be a legal expert, an outstanding orator, have a forensic mind, be an economic genius and have compassion for every part of society.

Yet the media and opponents zero in on the tiniest weakness, magnify it and then peddle it with soundbites galore til it sticks.

    This is England.

I saw the "The thick of it spoof" yesterday problem with the stuff than Armando penned is it looks like a documenary rather than a satire. Only thing that distingishes it from real life is no where in the script does anyone compare it to itself :)

By way of Balance here is an undoctored clip of Boris smashing it with a brilliant answer to a question - no idea what question but definitely not the one asked

Why would the BBC have any interest in showing Boris in a good light?

That rabbi seems to be getting a disproportionate amount of air time as well. It was the headline on the BBC News website last night and still is.

Also on Radio 1 this morning they were running that story and then ending the sentence with ‘BUT you can still vote if you register before the deadline’.
