Great result against a team full of danger men. We allowed them a lot of possession but largely kept their clear cut chances to a minimum. Rode our luck a little at times, but worked out socks off to keep the clean sheet. Oduor did a great job defensively after coming on too, which is meant to be his weak point. I hope Brittain isn't too seriously injured (I assume that's why he went off at HT). A hard earned result. Not pretty, but I'll take them every time.
Hard earned result indeed Curt. Great win. Brittain pulled up at the end of the first half. Looked like he tweaked something. Commentators didn't pick it up. Hope to god its not hamstring cos we would really miss him. Disagree with you about Odour. The lad is not a left back. Positionally he's all over the place and leaves the CBs too exposed. He can't tackle either. Just don't think it's his best position. Might be better in midfield.
That's why I think he did well today. Made a few key interventions in a role that's not his natural one, and up against Sarr down that right channel. Capoue was finding him like Glenn Hoddle with those long diagonal passes for a spell. Jon Parkin's commentary on it was amusing.
Agree about Parkin! hes a funny guy and his comment raised the commentary from its usual banal and predictable level. Mowatt's shorts, centre backs as wingers etc....
I agree with you & I thought Odour overall was excellent ,especially as he had probably the most talented wing man in the championship against him , the experience of today will have done him no harm .
