Was superb today. Brought some much needed class into the midfield (no disrespect intended to any other midfielders, but he's a different type of player). Seemed to be a bit further back than usual and it really suited him.

As for previous 'kit man's dream' comments - he was filthy today, as they all were.

    You Reds.

Best I’ve seen him play at home in ages. Technically he’s one of the best at the club, just needs to add some consistency to his game.

    Well played today Mike.

    Fantastic IMO

A player that frustrates me because I know he could be great rather than thinking he’s rubbish

Makes you wonder how the midfield against Birmingham came about? Totally random selection for that game.

He played well today. I didn't see Fulham, but toaking on board the positive comments about his performance, I make that the first time he's had overwhelmingly positive feedback 2 games in a row. Much progress!

Of course so much frustration with him is about consistency. A moment in the first half summed Mike up so much - a ball into him around 20 yards out, absolutely sublime control in 2-3 yards of space, but instead of shooting, he jinks back onto his weaker left foot, loses control and an opening goes begging.

2-3 times in the first half he found the same space 20-25 yards out, but didn't once put his laces through the ball and have a shot when the conditions couldn't have been better suited to doing so.

I've made the point tonight in relation to other players, but it's easy to forget he's such a young player. He should learn with experience, but it'd be great to see him work on being a more direct goal threat when he gets in those positions.

More than anything, he worked real hard today, and I think he's suffered a few times this season from not working hard enough (and been vilified for it). So long as he puts a shift in, I don't think anyone would begrudge his place in the side, because some of his touches and forward play hint at a player with real quality.

Agreed. I think we have may discussed this, He was a class act today & my MOTM. I wasn't wrong when I slagged him off for a half hearted performance & I'm not wrong now in saying he was brilliant today. Involved in everything that was good about our win. I am wrong sometimes & I'm the first to put my hands up when I am. Hope he can do it for the rest of the season, as he is the most skilful player in our side when he applies himself.

Showed some brilliant touches today. His close control at times is up there with the best in the Prem. One particular piece of skill today near the west stand touch line was just sublime. 2 Boro players within a yard of him and he did some kind of triple switch that was so quick if you blinked you missed it, left both boro players trying to tackle fresh air. If Messi had done it there would be a you tube channel dedicated to it. hope they've captured it on the video, would like to see it in slow mo.

As others have said though just wish he would be more direct at times and just go for goal.

Can't wait to see the Magic Mike video of that, I was a long way away but it looked impossible for him to come out of it with the ball. Top performance today lad.

That heal thing he did in midfield was absolutely breathtaking, his technical ability is unreal, his commitment sometimes not so much.
