Actually, thinking about it, some of the thicker independent travellers will be putting “Forest Green” into their satnavs, not finding it, so end up driving around aimlessly until they find a Weatherspoons somewhere. Maybe on the outskirts of Swindon or Gloucester. They’ll never even see the match, thus sparing the inhabitants of picturesque Nailsworth from their tribal behaviour.

So, not all bad then. Well, apart from us getting tonked at the New Lawn. Remember Crawley a few years ago?

Im not an away traveller any more but if I get to just two next season then FGR and Cheltenham Town will be those two fixtures so I can revisit places that I know so well from my GloucesterRed days.

Oxford is a home game for me. Wycombe not far away, although if you park in their car park take plenty of snap because you will not be leaving in a hurry.

I went to see the Reds at a friendly at Cheltenham a few years ago. It must have been arranged by Little Lee as his dad was manager there at the time.

Didn’t you go on that bitterly cold night at Whaddon Road when we beat them 3-1, their first season at Third Division level? The Cheltenham Echo were drooling over the quality we had in our side with a fantastic strike force that they could only dream of - Bruce Dyer and Mike Sheron.

Depending on the dates all 3 will be overnighters. Just gonna do the away days and spend my coin on them unless something radically changes.

Brilliant planning decision putting Adams Park at the end of a cul de sac of an industrial estate. Mind you, they were non league at the time I suppose

True enough but they might be in Uncle Knobhead’s mini bus or battered old van

Would be some achievement ending up on the outskirts of Swindon!

Not beyond the realms of possibility. Easy to overshoot when you’ve no idea where you’re going

It would be like over shooting Barnsley and ending up in Selby. But take your point, not beyond the realms of possibility.

Hoping for, (Including FGR and Exeter,). Sutton and Salford. From league 2, Unlikely I know, But possible.
Gillingham to go down. From league 1. Although done all the present league 1.
Gillingham is one of the coldest places I've ever had the displeasure of visiting for a game.

I didn't go on that occasion. My visit was on a very hot July evening probably 2015.

Yes, they moved from a site on the edge of the town centre in 1990 and went up to the Football League managed by Martin O’Neil in 92/93

Are you aware the most people don't use an actual satnav anymore? They use google maps. Therefore, if you were to put 'Forest Green' into google maps, it would actually take you to Nailsworth. Old people and technology eh?

Of course I’m aware that some people use Google Maps rather than a sat nav device although I have no idea what the ratio is. I was simply using “sat nav” as a generic term for finding your way about without using a map book.

I might be older than you but I’ve been tech-savvy since the late 80s when I spent three years in Germany putting brand new Olivetti PCs on people’s desks and instructing them on their use. You shouldn’t assume the older generation know nothing.
