Nobody is actually been serious when they say they want him out are they? How many managers have had poor or even good starts and not been given the time to prove whether they have the ability or not? Granted some managers needed to go e.g Spackman but by changing managers every season we are left with new players every year that are no better than the ones of the season before therefore leaving the club standing still if not going backwards. Ritchie defineatly needs to be the man that is given a fair crack at it because its become a cliche but the club needs stability

Have a lot of time for Ritchie's pre and post match comments

cos he generally says it how it is. but he's persevering with players he'd previously written off and his signings are less than inspiring.

I notice he took Devaney off after 51 minutes last night. Kevin Donovan in the making.

The old argument rears it's head again..

we've employed bad managers in nearly every case since Wilson. Regardless of the factors they had to deal with, they were bad managers.

We need to employ a good one. If that man is Ricthie..more time will tell

Come on mate

Please name some good managers who we can afford and would come to the well. Also Danny didn't crack it straight away.

I did not say Ritche won't prove to be the man..

he'sworkinh in difficult circumstances. I just hate the stability arguement. Stability is staying in this division at all costs (ie not getting relegated) If it gets that bad under AR (I don't think it will) then he will have to go.

For me Wilson would have come as would Ronnie Moore.Perhaps interviews should have been conducted...

Don't seem to remeber that, the nearest I recall was some disgruntled fans at WBA away 95/96.

The incident I'm thinking about was someone said 'let's get rid of Wilson' the retort was 'and then it'll be Shirtliffe as player manager' there was then a shudder of realisation.

Think he got some stick when he was a player under Anderson

My memory may be failing me

I think you're right about him being a player actually.

It was all far too long ago

Andy Ritchie was laughing during the Donny match.......2 players sent off, 2 nil down

I don't get paid from Barnsley FC
But me along with a few thousand others were not laughing during the Donny match
I don't know how he had the cheek to smile never mind laugh
I looked at the faces in the crowd and the contrast was stark
But then Ritchie is not a Barnsley fan is he
In my opinion the Barnsley manager with 2 lads sent off and losing 2 nil should not be seen to smile or laugh in public until he wins another match

RE: Andy Ritchie was laughing during the Donny match.......2 players sent off, 2 nil down

i'm a season ticket holder and i laughed when kay got sent off. is this wrong? If i was andy ritchie my emotions would have been all over the place, just like when r lass is due on. Just cos he's manager and we are losing, doesn't mean he has to have a permanent grimace on his face, just to prove to the fans that he is the manager. Paul Hart showed no emotions. When Austin got sent off, Andy ritchie marched all the way down to pull people away. Paul Hart would have bin looking at the stars whistling.
