Just realised, I don't think this board is for me. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a cry for attention or me taking my ball in, more of a parting gift if you will ;-) There are a few decent folk on here but not enough to make it worthwhile. There are also some right wallies; ordinarily I enjoy arguing with wallies but anonymity seems to just make folk even more entrenched in their ideas and ideals. You can't argue with folk like that, you can't discuss owt with folk like that and all it does is makes people double-down on their beliefs (on both sides, myself included). So, I'll discuss football in the Ponty End with actual people and I'll discuss morals and Brexit with the folk at work. Be excellent to each other. And sit darn!
I think it's sad you might, I totally understand your thinking as some people's reactions and posts can be irritating. I think sometimes having a break can be a positive way to deal with it. I hope you take a sabbatical and then come back enthused.
Or just ignore them, have a laugh and post mainly ******, just like what I do. I think this board is a great place, love it. Give it another chance, just ignore the posters you don't like.
Never quite sure why people need to post that they are not going to post any more.. Surely more the merrier lol. These days you have to be thick skinned or shrivel up in a corner. I know I wouldn't say anything to someone online that I wouldn't say in face to face conversation.
I enjoy posting on here at times. But I've found more and more that the negative stuff constantly posted has actually made following Barnsley less enjoyable. I'm downbeat enough when we lose without reading some of the nonsense that then gets posted. Anyone can post what they like be. I'm sure certain members would make their usual accusation of thought police. However, it's getting less and less rewarding being on here and that's when we're top four in the league!!
Yer right - there’s some reight nutters on here. But people take it too seriously. Personally I just throw my thoughts onto the BBS and if people like it then that’s great - if people don’t like and argue their point then that’s also great. The only problem we have on here is those people that are hard of thinking - and can’t think of owt to say so use abusive language instead.
Same as starlrhost ses just post for fun or just engage with those you get on with .no need to stop altogether .
I bet this is because of what I said to him last night. Don't think I have ever seen the OP post an actual opinion on BFC or a BFC player. His sole aim seems to be to criticise others for having an opinion. That's not what a message board is for as far as I am concerned. It's for agreeing and disagreeing and debating why we disagree. Some people can't seem to understand and/or respect this.
Brexit is the illegitimate child of fascism. As for Barnsley FC, we are now a club punching below our weight.
I've said it before and Ill say it again, I just don't understand why people have to post these parting messages. If you don't want to use the forum anymore then just stop using it! Why post to tell people that your stopping posting?
Shame to lose a good poster. I've been close to leaving a couple of times, but glad I stayed on. There are some silly posts & annoying posters, but it's still worth keeping on for the good ones.
Would be a shame to lose him. I haven't always agreed with him but he's always posted sensibly and been good for a smile too.
