Will be interesting to see where he ends up but if we have the option to sign him I’d make him one of our first signings, would be a coup for League One. With Helik more than likely off and Andersen possibly we’re going to need a decent centre half.
Think his contract was up in Summer, would guess at 28 as long as injury free will get a decent signing on fee from a Championship club.
He played only eight games last season and hasn't played since early November. The season before he only played 14 games. Imagine us being linked to someone who's only managed 22 games in all competitions in two seasons. Our board would rightly be slaughtered for it. But because a portion of our fanbase are obsessed with bringing back guys from our past some will want him back here.
Is it obsession or purely going on the fact we know the qualities of some players due to seeing them in the past?
He is 28, injury prone and played under a quarter of all available games over the past two years. He will end up with a southern based league one side like Wycombe or Portsmouth.
Iv no doubt he will have plenty of suitors, I do think such players/signings could be beneficial, especially for a relatively young squad like ours. The contract and control needs to be with the club tho, performance or appearance related. Basically not going down the Oulare route again!
If he is fully fit etc (which based on last few seasons numbers he might not be) he'd be the ideal replacement for Helik when he most likely gets sold. Issue is how many games you'd get from him.
