No matter what, you do half your sentence, doesn't matter if you plead guilty or not. The only way you do the full sentence is if you smuggle drugs in or something crazy
Johnson only pleaded to some of the allegations and was convicted after trial of the remainder. His sentence was tough for the level of offending. I know the judge and he is no softie. He does half because it was a derterminate sentence. A guilty plea is only of relevance to arriving at the appropriate term and does not mean you do less of the term than those convicted by the jury. Upon release at half-time they remain on licence and can be returned should they not comply with their conditions or offend again. I have prosecuted several murders over the last few years. There the rules are different. Upon conviction it is automatic life with a fixed minimum term that must be served prior to an application for parole which will not automatically be granted but instead determined by the ongoing threat posed by the individual. So if minimum term is 25, they do that and only then are able to apply. As for Johnson I think he has done his time. Given the spectrum of sexual offending, the circumstances of his convictions were by no means the most grave and,as I say, attracted a term at the top end of the appropriate sentencing bracket.
Would have thought as a convicted Pedophile and being on licence, would have thought it would be very difficult for any club with Youth teams to employ him given he wont be allowed near children.
I'm sure that there would be a couple of clubs who would take him if they thought that they could get away with it; one not far away from here.
