supposed to be going to the Canary Islands before Christmas. My understanding is that with the recent rule changes this now means that u18s can’t travel simply using a PCR test. We managed to get our youngest in for her second jab inside the travel time frame. Unfortunately it has not been recorded correctly and her second jab is not showing on the system. Rang 119 and reported the issue - it can take up to 21 days to resolve!
So through no fault of our own, a group of 5 people all of whom are double jabbed, and all of whom have had covid in the last 12 months, are unable to travel, unless the record miraculously appears in time.
    Travel insurance won’t cover this.
Any ideas on how we can make any kind of claim to retrieve the costs?

From today you need a covid pass to get into anywhere that holds over 500 people in Benidorm

From what I understand about the current guidance, you need a PCR test every day leading up to your holiday, one while you're there and 17 when you get back. You need your vaccination status tattooed on your chest and a QR code on either foot. You need to wear a face covering, blindfold, earmuffs and a chainsaw mask. You can only take between 4.7 and 4.9kg of hand luggage, however you can put anything in the hold, so long as it fits in the boot of a Fiat Cinquecento. When going through airport security, you need to recite the national anthem then shout "Brexit means Brexit" at the end, then score a perfect 9 dart finish... Unless you're visiting an Amber list country, in which case you have to do the exact same, but balance a pint of Boddingtons on your head the whole time you're there.

Update, having been given strict advice from NHS 119 that the only way to rectify this is through their corrections team, and that it could take 21 days, and there was absolutely no point in going back to the centre where the jab was administered, I did exactly that. (There is no phone number for the centre, obviously).
I was in and out in 10 minutes with the details now correctly entered onto the system.
Why do they make things so complicated ?

The Canary Islands have gone to the dogs. (Latin joke). And just HAS to be the worst joke I’ve ever posted, and the bar is lower than a snakes belly

That's good news. Enjoy the Canaries. Nearest I've ever got to them was Carrow Road. Although Laura has been. She ended up with pneumonia and nearly died but apart from that it was a decent holiday. She says it was because she was in and out of the Sun and the cold swimming pool at the resort.

Because to do otherwise involves the use of independent thought and straying from a script.

Posting from the Alhambra in Granada. The testing and faff are definitely worth it.

Worryingly I had to get to the 4th line before I realised it was a joke!

I only got the two jabs earlier this year because we were told it would make things easier for everybody. More lies - I should have known better. I didn’t want them but was suckered into it by mass propaganda and outright blackmail. I’ve got to find a test now on Christmas Eve before flying back to UK on the 26th.

We haven't been abroad for a number of years due to the difficulties of travelling with the kids. However even if that were not the case we wouldn't be booking a holiday abroad currently. With the sudden rule changes and now the requirement to test returning it just too open to change.
The whole travel sector has been hit incredibly hard.

Yep, we were the same. Decided not to book anything, after being hit in the early stages, with 2 lost trips.
We only booked this trip a month or so back, at the time all was well, with no indication of potential problems.
Luckily we hadn't booked accommodation, as we have now decided not to go, taking a £750 hit. Never again.
