Don’t read it then. Or if you have an alternative view to the ‘nonsense’, post it, rather than posting sod all and moaning about what someone else has written. This is your fourth post in over a year. This forum is not now nor has ever been solely to post football threads. It’s a forum of Barnsley supporters from all walks of life to discuss literally anything and everything. There is no need to amend that. There are threads about subjects of no interest to me that I don’t engage in - I don’t want them to not be there.
Not to mention getting an electrician, plumber, financial guidance, building advise etc etc the list goes on...I even got someone to fit coving..
centre lefty nonsense think he self proclaimed. Politics is everything, even football. If you dont like it, you're free to post and leave.
There are other sections created within the site, I mean even TV shows has its own section, so why not have one for politics? Politics is often a debate that causes the most aggressive and often difficult discussions and would warrant its own section, I'd say it's unique its not like having a discussion in general about xyz. Personally don't engage in politics on a public forum, but that's not to say others can't and that's their rightful choice. Might make things slightly easier then to find the non political threads, at the minute it's a bit much
We had a poll about it on here fairly recently...if I remember rightly it was 2 to 1 ish to leave the board as it is.
It ebbs and flows. Currently there is a void given the lack of actual football and the closing of the transfer window.
In fairness, the request was just politics, not all none football. PS. How can you have so many unread alerts? Do you not need to click on each one? Doesn't the notification do your head in (not just BBS, any notification).
The question arose at the time of the poll was specifically about political threads....whoever worded the poll however just said non-football.
You do though and that is whats so frustrating about the majority of people talking about this only being a football forum, because they contribute to political posts even if they aren't aware of it. That's political for instance. Politics is ingrained into every day life, it's part of football, it's complaining about CEOs getting overpaid, it's complaining about flags or complaining that your bins aren't getting emptied regularly. This forum wasn't created just for fans to come and discuss Barnsley FC, it was created for Barnsley FC fans to come and interact about EVERYTHING that this life has to offer.
If the argument is 'It's a football forum' then anything non football has to be moved. Dogs, removals, current affairs, music, 'jokes', travel, advice, cricket, other sport... Anything not to do with bfc... Offskis. Sadly, most people who bring up moving political posts are the 'free speech' brigade.
It's a good point you make, and in future I'd put this post into politics, maybe I should have worded it differently that I don't express an opinion on any mainstay party uk politics. I wasn't aware either there had been votes on the subject prior, on having a separate section, are people afraid due to a lack of traffic their POV won't be seen or something?
I totally agree, and I've probably said before if the other subjects were removed, and it was just purely football, it would die on its arse. I've always felt the BBS is more a forum for all things, where we all have a common interest of being Barnsley FC fans.
