I don't think the sexual assault thing really holds weight. There are far more young men who are British born and bred living within reach of our schools. The problem you are referring to is certain men, not certain nationalities or immigrations statuses. The studies that have been used to evidence rises is sexual assault in foreign nationals are being deliberately misreported by certain wings of the media. They are usually limited in scope to foreign nationals, have no equivalent baseline for fair comparison and rarely, if ever, actually investigate British nationals under the same criteria. There is a single high profile case at the centre of this story. That approximates as 0.001% of asylum seekers currently housed in the UK. Its a false narrative.

Of course there are issues relating to the asylum process. Of course there are issues with net migration. But it's impossible for our society to have a productive conversation about resolving it as the entire narrative is being controlled by a small group of nationalists and the flag waving rabble they have managed to rouse. And then you have the likes of Farage and the telegraph piggybacking on the back of these protests rather than calling for some perspective or an actual conversation.

How many of these protestors do you think had better lives in 2023? 2016? 2005? 1990? The people at the bottom who have always been at the bottom have been made to think all their problems are the fault of refugees and foreign nurses, by the very people who built the society that keeps them at the bottom, regardless of government type, inflation, or any other societal pressures.

So how would you combat the nationalist populism wave in order to have a worthwhile conversation about the root issues?

Because I think, as much as what yous re saying about Brexit makes sense, noone has been listening to reason or absorbing factual information for nearly a decade now. The fact that this government is doing a sh*tonne more to overhaul the asylum system and manage immigration than their predecessors is going completely unnoticed, while vast numbers of people based all their opinions entirely on Tweets Farage and Robinson make.

Can you elaborate on how you're associating multiculturalism with London being a $hithole?

Well if you take your head out of your arse for a minute it's really not that hard to see there is a problem.

Maybe when you enrobe yourself in a flag to take to the tube, that stops people smiling at you. Just a thought.

Bloody hell. I bet you can’t find a single person who supports the flag raising who will spot the irony in the person leading it having been convicted for being a people smuggler himself. What are you supposed to do with people like that? There’s just no reaching them through any kind of dialogue.

It is. And at the same time it isn't. The graph is comparing apples with oranges to make apples look bad.

Is there an issue with young men with complex PTSD fleeing war zones and atrocities committing sexual crimes? - potentially, but currently accounts for <.5% of the rapes or sexual assaults that occur daily. And they are using conviction rates - which can be slewed by bias within the police and juries on the ~1-2% of sex crimes that eventually make it to court. Are the police more likely to pursue a case against an asylum seeker than against a white British man? And are the jury more likely to convict a white British man or an immigrant of colour - especially with all the negative headlines about asylum seekers being predators? (Both of these have been found to be true for decades)

But at the same time, the majority of the British population is older, more female, and therefore less likely to commit those crimes, so they are comparing a population of mainly young men against the entire British population. I suspect - because the figures aren't available - that if you compared the rate of Afghani men committing crimes with British men in the same age group, it isn't all that different. And, of course, women are significantly more likely to be sexually assaulted by a British man given that there are hundreds to each person from those countries - and kids far more likely by their immediate family than a stranger.

(There are ~200 rapes, 400 sexual assaults and 3-4000 domestic violence incidences reported to the police daily)

There is a decent fact check on this (which of course originated from Farage)

https://news.sky.com/story/fact-che...ta the police, insists no panic over migration

    TLDR

The figures were put together through a FOI request and contain data that does not represent the true population figures for the nationalities included. It isn't based on census figures and even if it was those figures are 4 years old and would show much higher population's for the nations being demonstrated as "bad".

Can you elaborate please? I'd like to know what you perceive as the problem and the basis of your experience of said problem.

Personally, the biggest flaw in the data would be the skew in age ranges, obviously people who identify with a foreign nationality are going to be skewed younger, and therefore statistically more likely to commit crime - but that is only an assumption, as the data is not split by age.
On the specific figure quoted by Farage, the fact that If you take the Country of birth rather then nationality then the sexual offence rate comes to down to only 3 times more for Afghans to UK country of birth is hardly a relief. Also it seems the Met Police say in the article corrected a "human error" that they had previously stated they report on Country of Birth when in fact they give figures based on Nationality not country of birth when collecting crime stats, so taking country of birth would clearly under report the figures.

And note - in your original message you referred to "nationalities" yourself.
"The problem you are referring to is certain men, not certain nationalities or immigrations statuses."

Well, I mean the evidence we have from the grooming gangs is that the Police and other authorities actively ignored or underplayed the problem because they were worried about being labelled racists and/or didn't want to stir up racial tensions, so the police might be said to be less likely to pursue cases against asylum seekers.

Given the overwhelming footage down the years of police aggressively dealing with non white people who turned out to have committed no crime, I suspect police bias probably skews figures the opposite way.

There are plenty of grooming gangs being dealt with. Look.
