He did say league goals… I rated Cauley too. Thought he got a bad press in the last couple of years and took more than his fair share of blame for other people’s shortcomings and poor decisions. However, Bruce Dyer has scored more league goals (and goals overall) for Barnsley this century.
Yeah, and to be honest I would have been more against it, had Moncur been the quality player we hoped he would be. Highly rated at Colchester in the number 10 role, and he just really went downhill after that.
I take it that you meant "would be a huge risk", rather than "wouldn't", in which case I agree with you. I agree with the rest of your post.
I think Winnall was probably a bigger goal threat, though, obviously, he was not with us for as long and left in rather unsatisfactory circumstances. I liked Woodrow though, and I think he eventually came in for a lot of unfair criticism.
How much ambition does Phillips have, or will it just come down to more money. Luton apparently can offer more, but while its only 6 games into the season. Would Adam prefer to stay here maybe, for a possible push at promotion. Despite the money, what if any, extra pulling power do Luton have.
I loved Sam. Shame it ended how it ended. Woodrow is one of only four players in BFC history to score more than 15 goals in three consecutive seasons. Bruce Dyer, Frank Eaton and Ernie Hine the others. Big thanks as ever to @gooderzone for the historical facts.
Ai versus Wiki....which is correct? Ai " Crucial funding also comes from the sale of the old Kenilworth Road site for residential development " Wiki The club retained ownership of the ground until February 1989, when the freehold was sold to Luton Borough Council for £3.25 million. The club was granted a seven-year lease at peppercorn rent for its continued use. ( renewed regularly until 2028)
No, there is no direct funding from Luton Council according to their website. Apologies I should have included it.
With how Phillips' is currently playing, I'd love to keep him. Hopefully Conor can convince him to stay, keep up how he's performing, and either win promotion with us, or get an even bigger move next summer...
Local government are paying for access roads infrastructure to the M1 which is integral to the redevelopment of the area, couldn’t go ahead without it.
