Good result, but hopefully it doesn’t paper over the crack in the eyes of those above, we still need two players minimum before 17:00 Monday. A striker & a CB!
2 goals, fair amount of subs. extended stoppage when someone was down before a sub, can’t remember who now.
Full time, brilliant win Reds. Would've honestly been content with a point against a side in good form who had the better of us last season, no idea what would've happened 11 vs 11 for the rest of the game but I'll take the win however it comes.
Excellent result. Was worried about this one going into game and would have happily taken a point before kick off but that's an excellent win.
Over 9 added on minutes, come on, why so long!!. And hey when we made it 3 on 85 minutes, I still thought we might need to hang on a bit in the end. But finally its full time, and another a win, and Im delighted to see us beat a team like Hudds.
Thoroughly deserved victory. Barnsley have been the better team from minute one. Thirteen points from the first six matches, into the third round of the League Cup and I bet there'll still be some who will find something to whine and complain about! DKD my MOTM.
To be fair it was as comfortable a win as we’ll see all season. We never got out of second gear in that second half and still never looked in any trouble barring one poor mistake. We’ve seen teams do that to us for years, it was nice to be on the giving end for once.
Good win, disappointed with not holding on to the clean sheet but well played. Just get the players we need and don’t lose anyone by close of play Monday.
By and large, a professional second half from the Reds, though it started a little too passively. Disappointingly, Huddersfield saw more of the possession early on but never really created anything before we regained control. Even then, we rarely threatened a third, apart from a great through ball from Vickers that begged to be finished – only for Didzy to take a heavy touch and waste the chance. DKD had a goal ruled out for offside before eventually getting our third, reacting quickest to a rebound from Phillips’ effort. Unfortunately, the half – and the clean sheet – were spoiled by a self-inflicted error: a poor back pass from the otherwise impressive Ogbeta. Overall, a great result from an okay performance. There are still areas to improve, and I was disappointed with Huddersfield’s showing – though that was partly down to Conor outmanaging Grant. The fluid front four constantly found space, while both Bland and Connell protected the back four for most of the game. A great way to end the first part of the season. We can enjoy a few weeks off before the next phase begins. Hopefully, we’ll add to the squad, but we look competitive as things stand – and that’s encouraging.
Had to leave the house at 3-0 to attend a family party (reason why l wasn't at the game), put Radio Pig on DAB and Weds game was on so switched to Radio Leeds where we were the live game. What an excellent commentator the guy was, describing everything happening in the game and very knowledgeable, you wouldn't think he was their commentator. In his summary he said we had excellent game management and play the short balls from the back out to Connell to orchestrate the play, brilliantly. Full of praise for us.
Playing DKD more central makes him look a more effective player - wasted on the wing. Two goals (three with one disallowed) - he needs to be in and around the box as soon as the transfer window shuts.
