    To be fair before Russell missed the header he did some great work to win the ball back on the edge of the box he then played it to Barrett who gave it straight back to Rotherham
    You also singled out clearly who put a quality ball in for Russell. Too much sideways backward possession football for me.

    The League Cup is now on about the same level of seriousness as the ZDS Cup was in the early 90's. Middlesbrough's first team got pumped 4-0 at home to Doncaster's reserves the other week. The same Middlesbrough who are top of the Championship with a 100% record.

    Imho....a poor half for the reds. Rotherham haven't needed to be that good tbf....they deserve their lead as they have been more of a threat in the final third and physically better.
    I probably think it is work in progress with our squad and shows how paper thin it is....and how far Connor has to go, although I would argue its still loads better than the last couple of seasons.
    We need some quality in but it may take a few windows to do that.
