    • Barnsley Vs. Rotherham United - Tue, Aug 26 2025, 19:45
The Reds welcome Rotherham United in Carabao Cup action on Tuesday evening at Oakwell.

Following a penalty victory against Fleetwood Town at Oakwell two weeks ago, Conor Hourihane's men face fellow South Yorkshire side Rotherham United for a place in the Carabao Cup Third Round, kicking off at 7:45pm at Oakwell.

Tickets are just £15 for adults and £3 for under 14s; a full price list and ticketing information can be found HERE.

2025/26 Season Tickets are not valid for this fixture due to it being a cup tie.

Our Box Office will open from 10am on matchday right the way through until kick-off, and tickets are also available online.

Thank you for your fantastic support.

Doesn't look like we've sold many on the eticketing map. Disappointing the fans aren't backing the players who are doing well when the club have made the price reasonable.

It's too easy to become an armchair fan watching at home on Sky Sports Plus.

Can’t disagree, it’s really poor given it’s a good forecast and it’s still the school hols. This sky + deal is a killer for a few clubs like us. Wonder how many the Millers have sold?

Nowt to do with Sky this one, its the clubs and their fanny players that have devalued our cup competitions for years.

And now, to the surprise of absolutely no-one, supporters have lost interest

You’re right but I’d have thought a local derby might’ve tempted a few more.

It needs a lot more than a reasonable price (I still think £15 is too much) to cater for the lost fans over the last two years. I think a lot of people are underestimating how many fans have lost interest recently. The Ponte End was dead against Bolton so was never gonna be up to much against these in the League Cup.

Bang on about Sky though. Attendances are
plummeting up and down the country for midweek games.

I would have gone if they had beaten Wimbledon, reality check.

We were always going to lose a game sometime. We'll lose a few more I've no doubt.
Can't fault the start we've made though, especially with that defence, and surely one defeat shouldn't put everyone off.

I've made my thoughts on the League Cup very clear for a long time. Either revamp it completely, or scrap it and restore the FA Cup to what it once was.

    Sounds a bit fickle..

I was never going to go tonight, as I live over an hour from Oakwell and I think the League Cup is a complete waste of time.

Who are these lost fans you speak about.Average gates of 10k home fans and averaged a 1000 fans at 3 long away games. For me the support has held up pretty well. The league cup gates are where they normally are,not only Barnsley but all over the country.

Think Saturday v Huddersfield and games after the break will be a good barometer of our support holding up or not.
Burton was a ticket offer and Bolton came after winning our first two games. What happens next Saturday and at the end of the window will then have an impact. We’re relying a lot more on pay on the day punters and they can soon turn fickle.

My reply was regarding lost fans and I can't see where we have lost any.Of course things can change in the future but the initial comment in my opinion was wrong.

The romance of Cup football is the chance of the draw which has been ruined in this competition by the fact that, in the next round, 3 Premier Division teams will be guarenteed to play 3 lower division teams at home. The draw has to be 'fixed' to allow that. I won't venture out for the EFL Trophy either since they allowed U21 sides in from Premier League teams. The FA Cup has been devalued since they scrapped replays, again at the behest of the Premier Division. Nowt to do with Sky - the common theme here is the undue influence the Premier League imposes.
