Just watched them getting thrashed by Arsenal. Something says I should be behind the Yorkshire side, but I’m not.
Personally hope they get pumped like that every week. Although I have a feeling they are the most likely of the promoted teams to cling on. They'll do ok at Bellend Road
Got a message from my mate who supports them before kick off he said that he thought it was a good time to play Arsenal and they’d get a draw at least when I read that I nearly fell off my chair
That was a shame for Saka, having to be helped off. I hope its not too bad, for his club and country matches.
I used to be the same but changed my tune a while back, Yorkshire football being useless was fun for a long time - but it’s kind of sad a county as big as ours takes pride in being basically crap at football. It’s embarrassing. I’d much rather have all the larger teams in the prem, with Leeds having solid European campaigns, as much as I dislike them. Crabs in a barrel, a rising tide carries all ships etc
As a West Yorkshire lad, I have much more discontent with Leeds than Wendies, but they’re pushing it close after the Play off final other year. Dont mind any of other Yorkshire clubs tbf.
I struggle with that. I’ve happily cheered on other Yorkshiremen in the Olympics, in boxing, in cycling etc but I can’t bring myself to ever want Leeds or Wednesday to do well. I can just about cope with Sheff Utd. I’ve never got the impression that their fans are as entitled as the other two. I don’t mind any of Huddersfield, Doncaster & Rotherham. I wish them well unless they’re playing us.
For years I couldn’t stand Leeds, however this last 4-5 years I can genuinely tolerate them…….a think it’s mainly to do with the atmosphere and the passion there fans show, it’s a lot of what I think fans and grounds should be like. I’ll apologise in advance for the few that know me on here
I disliked Lerds for a long time mainly because their fans were a truly horrible lot. The new breed seen a lot better. Maybe years of football hardship does that to a fanbase. I hope they stay up. Its also very good for the city. It may also be that im getting a bit long in the tooth to be spending time on disliking another team for stupid reasons
I don’t particularly dislike them. But the ‘amazing fans’ thing is a myth. Of course the ground is full and noisy because they’ve had a good few years and are a 1 city club. It was only 8 or 9 years ago that Ellend Road was half full every week and games played out in silence. Not a dig, it’s no different to most clubs. But let’s not pretend all the folk in the stadium are thick and thin die hards.
Nahh I can't go along with that lol, coming from West Yorkshire as I do. Leeds have always been the team that I want us to beat, if possible. But I don't have an obsession with Sheff Wensdy, like most of our fans do!.
