I enjoyed that. It was a good contest between two teams that tried to pass the ball. Peterborough were better than their points total suggest, but didn’t really have a lot in the final third, though I always felt like we needed a second, just in case. Not a classic, or a goalfest, and it’s obvious we need to stop with some of the silliness at the back, BUT you can see what we’re trying to do, and how fit and willing the lads are to run. Onto Wimbledon.
First of all Ryan, I’m not sure the word horror can properly be used as an adjective. It’s clearly a noun. I can’t take your views seriously after that grammatical faux pas. Sorry old bean.
Agree with this . They played some excellent stuff in the first half to break out well from our press. But had no real plan in the final third. I thought they might tire in the second half as they had worked so hard in the first off the ball, which they did. They play the game the right way and have had to deal with the sale of multiple star players, which I can fully empathise with. A good club. I for one hope they start to gel, which I am sure they will.
Not sure if mentioned elsewhere, but Callum Simpson was in the away end last night. Useful to have around if you get jumped on the way back to the buses, I guess. Apologies for the crap photo.
Fair enough. I was disappointed by the level of performance though in the first half. We were fortunate in that Peterborough were poor. We were much better in the second half and should have won by a bigger margin.
Every game we win this season we get dismissed as being *****, I hope we continue to be this ***** for the rest of the season!
Could and should have buried them second half if Mcgoldrick had his shooting boots on and for a fine save from their keeper in the dying embers never got out of second gear for me and completely outclassed them all over the pitch if I was him I’d more worried about the shower of ***** they produced other than that Khela thought they was all *****
Yeah, my mate was reading out a few Facebook posts on the drive back up. It was like we’d seen a different game to some.
By far and away the worst Posh side I've ever seen. I didn't recognise a single one of their squad by name, and that's never happened before. And I was at the very first game between our clubs.
Really? That's a shame, they're usually a decent set of fans. That mixed-supporter setup at Charters barge was spot-on.
I thought we deserved our victory. With steadier finishing (and a bit of luck), the scoreline would've better reflected our superiority. Still in August, though, so no need to go read too much into our situation.
Yeah, didn't go last night but been in that barge for a pint before. Great set up and never seen a hint of bother.
