Been reading their forum and it appears they're in a bit of a mess. Good players sold and replaced with poor quality. Chairman not able to put in the money he had done in the past. They're clearly low on confidence, can't defend or score. Most of their fans fear we'll give them an absolute hiding on Tuesday. Sounds like a good time to be playing them. Hopefully we'll get up and at them from the start. My first away game of the season, looking forward to it!
As a Barnsley fan, these games actually scare me more. When we expect to win, that's when it goes wrong.
They were pretty awful last season and I’ve not looked closely at their transfer business this summer but have seen they’ve sold some of their better players so I think it’ll be a struggle for them all season. Unless they’ve somehow managed to pluck a non league striker out of somewhere to bag 25 goals. Confident there will be goals in our game (as always) and confident they will mostly be in our favour.
They had the winger I liked last season dembele he went oxford. I'd like to think we will win Tuesday but there's no easy games still debating if to go but 27quids abit steep.
Might be wrong mate, but unless they had someone I'm unaware off, Dembele left 3/4 years ago. Do you mean Poku? He was very good in this league. The seasons previous they lost all their good players, Harrison Burrows, Ronnie Edwards, Clarke-Harris (who to be fair, did stop giving a toss) & Josh Knight, Poku, Mason-Clark. They've earned a few million from them all, but nowhere near the amount McAnthony pretends they do. They haven't replaced very well. No doubt theyll get relegated, have a season or 2 in league 2 again, then promotion and have a real nice squad... Only for them to lose in playoffs and sell off their best players yet again. All this at the same time as hiring & firing Ferguson 6 more times.
I know we shouldn't take the first few rounds of the Lg Cup seriously, but Ferguson said it was embarrassing them losing to Accrington. Its normally a very good away fixture for us though, so come on then Conor & co, absolutely no pressure lol.
We have two very winnable away games coming up - need to take full advantage. To be fair we seem to do well away at Peterborough which means one thing - a resounding home win
