£27 isn't going to cut it, £20 today and we would have seen a 16,000 plus gate & £20 is more than fair for a 3rd tier game, you're not going to to put bums on seats at that price, I.M.O. of course.

I agree, however, the increase in N.I, the cost of food, drinks, wages, kits, maintenance etc etc…….sadly it’s how much things probably need to be. We Calle to the chippy before, chips & peas n chips & gravy……£8.10!! Worlds gone mad

    Got to disagree.

    Yeah it’s £27.

But you’ve got 3,100 Bolton fans all paying full whack. That’s £69,750 exc. Vat.

Many in Town are away on hols still, so you wouldn’t have filled it either.

The club has to cash in on big away followings. That’s how we survive. Bolton are one of our biggest away followings.

To lower the cost for others - buy a season ticket (interest free payments), buy a flexi ticket or buy in advance and save a couple of quid. The club have done as much as they can.

And you can’t discount many matches as that then affects season tickets holders…..

Let’s also not forget, the club probably lost money on Wednesday night as well. Just to open up the ground and then put the floodlights on costs a fortune. Can’t keep giving stuff away.

Sadly this is true when electric, N.I, minimum wage cost of food drink etc rising everything else has to go up sadly. I remember paying 25 quid to go to Bramhall Lane under wilson when we won 1 nil 2014 I think I thought that was extortionate for league one football back then. So is 27 that bad 11 years later.

Its not the board its football in general. To be able to compete these are the prices we have to pay.Cheaper than some but competitively priced like most other teams.

That point you make at the end, I was only thinking about that the other day as to whether the club actually loses money on a game like that

    They do.

It’s much better from a financial point of view to play these early cup games away from home, ideally locally so no hotel fees.

Otherwise you just burn money as the crowd doesn’t cover the costs. Rotherham will be a bigger crowd - but it’s Bank Holiday week so both sets of fans will be limited again.

At some point the floodlights will have to be upgraded to LED, as that will lower running costs of night games. But that needs capital investment again - and it won’t be cheap. I’d also suggest they should be going down the ‘light show’ route too, to help add atmosphere for football and other events like the boxing.

    £100,000

There’s definitely more money in cheaper prices and higher crowds, so long as the numbers turn up.

I hope you're joking about the maths!!

Question is though, would they have sold the extra 1900 if it was 20 quid? I'd doubt it.

I agree to extend mate. No problem with £20 as an encouragement but I ain’t sure you get a lot more down at that price. Dodgy stick and MDT suits a load on here an in general I am afraid

You keep saying that. How do you know that those in the MDT don't have reasons that they can't get to the game?

The category system is just to take advantage of teams that travel in numbers I think our pay on the day doesn’t increase game to game really expect for the outliers like last week at £15 - but for one game to be valued at £15 and another at £27 tell it’s own story really. Again fans are also just being asked to help fund the gap that clubs are agreeing to pay players that they can’t really afford.

    £83,333 exc. Vat.

And then you’ve got to up the number of stewards, police and other staff to allow for the extra numbers.

It doesn’t work in August - too many folk are away on hols. I know at least 10 who didn’t go today due to holidays.

Sorry - IMO the club haven’t done anything wrong. They offered cheap tickets for the Burton game and midweek against Fleetwood was also cheap. Today they cashed in on over 3,000 Bolton fans - as they should.

Well if that’s a dig at people such as myself - I actually paid to watch our game via iFollow - it cost me £10 - it would have cost me £64 to attend plus travel and food and unfortunately I just don’t have that money to outlay a week after a home game living 120 miles away.
