Sorry it’s from social media. I was sent it in a WhatsApp. https://x.com/bbcwys/status/1955656400941813949?s=46&t=q8_2SlIRcRsMjwLKtdfedw
Really odd when you compare it to Humphrys words in this interview when he signed for them: https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...ssion-regarding-barnsley-fc-departure-5209184 Not really our problem though. Vickers and Cleary look miles better than him to me. We move on.
I must be missing something because doesn't he say there that the Bradford manager wanted him to be a number 9 who will come off the past line, run in behind and link up? That's not a left winger
I'm sorry but.. it's clear that Graham Alexander isn't a good manager because otherwise he would know his own players strengths. Stephen Humphrys is obviously a winger, he loves to run at defenders.
How is he not being played to his own strengths? His stats back up what they've both agreed upon with the most dribbles in league one. So he's clearly allowed to run at defenders.
He said this "As a 'nine' in this team, I will be able to get on the ball and dribble and create chances a lot more than most of last season when I was a target man really." "I wanted to make sure he (Alexander) understood I didn’t want to be that and he wanted to make me feel comfortable that was not what I was brought in for. He wants me to link play up and get into the box."
"it's clear that Graham Alexander isn't a good manager because otherwise he would know his own players strengths." He picks a team to play to the strengths of the team as a whole...one player's preference doesn't matter a jot.
It’s bonkers how many people are judging Humphrys off a few games on the wing when many of the teams we played had nothing to play for. I’m glad he’s gone.
My thoughts exactly went through the motions for 3/4 of the season until he had a contract to play for. Many were abit sad to see him go Bradford can afford more etc but the replacements look much better.
