Obviously it would show he's better than the 2 players conor rates which is worrying

That’s the conundrum of which striker to sign, what striker worth signing would want to be a back up only loan or permanent?

Team looks good we needed a keeper, got one, a Right back, got one, a Striker, got one, an then we av DKD, Connell, Phillips an Russell, who we all thought we'd loose, an on top of that we av Cleary, Vickers, Kelly, an Ogbeta, an all look good additions, maybe we do need another Forward, but i've heard Vickers fancies himself up top.

So are you suggesting we sign him as a striker or a centre half?

There's still plenty of time for the squad to change before the window closes.

If we don't sell 2 of the 4 saleable assets, it means Parekh has to dig into his (or his Dad's) pockets and bale us out for another 5 months til January. Something he was openly trying to scale back. While we might have shaved a bit of cost from our squad budget, given we're subsidising loanees and given the annual pay rise ratchet, we'll be nowhere near break even without selling anybody.

I'll be surprised... And disappointed if we don't realise at least one significant sale.

    Is this a wind-up?

If not, I think you’re mixing up need and want.

Norwood? No thanks. If we genuinely want to strengthen our forward options, I’m sure we can do better.

But if you’re that convinced he’s the answer, give your new bestie a call — I’m sure he’ll get right on it.

Rather get a centre half if its the choice either or but both would be a statement of intent

Well yeah but how long ( if he stays) can we afford to play him out of position? Either him or McGoldrick get injured or banned we are goosed.
As you know my post was about needing a striker more than DKD’s contribution.

DKD can play anywhere in a front three, or behind it if necessary. And I’m pretty sure McG is the same.

Whether Reyes or Vickers can play inside, we’ll have to see. But I’m going to assume they’re pretty versatile too. As is Jalo, when he’s back.

But assuming they are all still here when the window closes, I’d like to think the club will have added another more old fashioned number 9 too. I’m not even asking for a miracle either. I mentioned Joe Nuttall the other day. He’s on a free, 28, lower league laiker who’d be cheap and with something to prove, good sub option. I’m sure there are many other (and better) options.

    Time will tell.

Looking forward to seeing how we get on tonight with a few changes. I’d expect to see Watson, Russell, Kelly and Reyes etc.
