Going to QPR for 2.75 million down..and 2.25 million in add ons. So at best, if all the planets align..5 million.. How much we supposed to asking for DKD.?. 6-7 million.. never in a million years. About time some folk got realistic around here..
Id be surprised if he hits half those addons. Was a brave move turning down 7 mill for him last season.
Fine by me if we've put it out there that £5m won't do it, we get to keep him, cos we won't be anywhere near top 6 without him.
How does the sale of an inferior player who has scored less goals in more games undermine the value of our player?
I hope we have rejected £5,000,000 for DKD. And I say that as someone who thinks we should always sell a couple every year to help financially. The fact is, he’s likely to score just as many, if not more goals this season than he did last. So his value will only increase. And, he’s absolutely critical to us having any shot at a playoff tilt.
I find it hard to believe we’ve turned down £5m for DKD, doubt anyone would pay that for someone who will be 28 soon. I’d say his value will start to drop after this season purely because of his age. Then again, I might well be wrong. Football finance these days is one crazy world.
Hes worth at least 5 million to us that should be the starting point not the end.Well done to the board for standing there ground again.
Last season DKD got 19 surrounded by Cosgrove, Watters and Rodriguez. This season with the likes of Mcgoldrick, Cleary and Vickers with an improved Connell and Phillips he could get 25 goals in a promotion season. We shouldn't be selling the best player in the league at any price.
Promotion from League 1 earns you around £6m, doesn't it? If so,that should be the base value of DKD.
Maybe it’s you who should get realistic. Asking and getting are 2 different things. IMO we should always value (not ask) a player well above what we might think he’s worth. If we’re not being offered ‘ridiculous’ money for him, then he should stay
3-4 mil is a fair price for him. A board who dont have ambitions would sell him for that price, so they deserve credit for yet again doing what they can to get us promoted
Wycombe look like they’re willing to spend cash this window but getting knocked back by teams and players for some reason. Had a £4 million bid rejected by a side in the Champ for one of their strikers. Apparently Saydee who has joined Wigan turned them down after getting released from Pompey. Next target sounds like it’s Dane Scarlett.
So you don't think we should be slapping a huge price tag on our prize assett, after years of letting players go for peanuts?
Eh? So Sormaz has been involved in us keeping DKD (so far) and surrounding him with much better players than last season. His record up until now has been patchy, but I don't really see what he's done wrong here.
Depends on what numbers you use. Personally I'd look only at division 1 numbers. Goals at division 1 level DKD Age 27 Minutes on pitch: 5259 Goals: 25 Assists: 5 Goal every: 2.33 games Kone Age: 22 Minutes on pitch: 3434 Goals: 21 Assists: 6 Goal every: 1.82 games
Agree with that.. the only thing I'm pointing out here is some of the Barnsley fan's ridiculous expectations.. Charlie Kelman QPR to Charlton 3.5 million down 1.5 in add ons again if all the planets align.. Id say DKD is priceless to us and unless he asks to leave I wouldn't sell.. But the going rate is around 3 million plus the add on's, if they kick in, for a 20 goal L1 striker.. And not some of the phone numbers mentioned on here..
