Only a matter of time before the greed league follows https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cqxggp2ppngo
La Liga has massive finance issues and can no longer compete with the Prem and PSG.. so this isn't a surprise. Same with Serie A to an extent. The Prem might follow suit but its less urgent for them
According to the report, the fans are vehemently against it - but they probably won't have the final say.
I don't really see the point. It's all on telly anyway, if Americans want to see the teams they can play friendlies there at the end of the season.
I'd be sending my ST back. Changing kick-off times is bad enough, but I'll be fkcued if I have to get to Miami. At least 2 trains and a plane, and I bet there's no connecting train if I get back late?
If it happens the fans should not attend any other games either. It’ll never happen to us but if it did my attitude would be if im not valued enough to attend this game you can whistle for all the rest too - and my season ticket would go back
Aye but don't forget Andy. You'll be able to get a photo alongside the real Mickey mouse just up the rd. Afore you have to rush back for your return flight. At £1k that has to be worth it surely.
All fans can have a say. Whether staying away is a good enough protest and will get the backing I doubt. So as I say they will get what they get.
I renewed my Season Ticket for Elche CF just recently. The last two seasons being spent in La Liga 2 the season ticket gave us access to all home games. However, Ive just looked at the conditions for this season now Elche are back in La Liga, and it's interesting to see that the club now reserve the right to declare up to 2 of the 19 home games as "Jornadas Económicas" (Economical Rounds). In other words, Barcelona and Real Madrid will cost extra, albeit at a reduced price. I don't think Elche CF are alone in doing this, as talking to some Spanish friends the other "smaller" clubs in La Liga all do the same. Cost of my season ticket was 310€, but tickets ranged for adults from 155€ to 695€ for season ticket renewals, new season tickets ranged from 195€ to 850€. Elche CF announced yesterday they'd sold 27000 season tickets - their highest ever sales. Oh and yes, Bambo Diaby is going to be playing in La Liga this season.
